Meh - Ok but not as good as the old ones
I bought 3 of these expecting a similar product to what I bought 6 or 7 years prior. I knew Yamaha had changed the design of the tilter slightly, but I was surprised by what else changed. The tubing shafts are shorter, providing very little vertical positioning, and the boom is ridiculously short. I didn't think that metal was THAT expensive that they couldn't add 2 more inches. Other than that, the only other oddity is that Yamaha seems to be using different felt for the tilter, and this felt is much more dense and non-compressible.I bought 3 of these expecting a similar product to what I bought 6 or 7 years prior. Yamaha Short Boom Cymbal Stand Arm
Yamaha builds some of the best drum hardware there is. I've replaced all my Tama, Pearl, and DW double-braced hardware with either 600 or 700 series Yamaha single braced stuff, and I expect the Yamaha gear to last me the rest of my life.
