About this product

Product Information

After years of researching all available Alamo records, including primary letters and accounts by participants, government documents from the period, newspaper articles, diary entries, and even receipts, Wallace O. Chariton has answered these and many more of the perplexing Alamo questions. No punches are pulled in this hard hitting investigation. Some of the answers presented may excite your patriotic yearnings: other more controversial answers may ignite your historical anger. In either event, some new light has been cast onto a few of the shadows of the Alamo legend.

  • The truth about the Alamo

This book is very well written. Chapter by chapter it explores the facts and the myths surrounding the defense of the Alamo. It presents all the known facts and some of the glorified stories. This book gives different and sometimes opposing points of view. At all times this book details the courage and patriotism of those incredible men who fought for what they believed in. Travis, Bowie and Crockett will live on and take their rightful place in the proud history of the fight for Texas independence. A good read.
