To start off I should mention that I work in the HVAC commercial / residential construction industry. Having a cordless impact is a much-needed necessity in my line of work it is the number one tool that I use. Having to drive 16 4" Tek 5 screws in to 1/4" thick steel beams on a roof in the middle of the summer and having to do it three more times in the same day. That puts one hell of a demand on one little drill. While I have been doing this for the past 8 years I have seen others in this trade using DeWalt and other high-end expensive brands to do the same thing I am doing would a Ryobi. In fact I have found that the 3-amp lithium+ batteries are outlasting all other batteries I have tried in the past. Also the torque on the new brushless impact that I have now is sometimes too much torque. I have indeed broken many bolts and screws with this impact set on 3. A few of my other coworkers do not like to use my impact because they say it is too aggressive instead they choose to stick with their old style Ryobi impacts. As for length of use of the brushless impact I have now I have been using it for over a year and have had no problems. I still have my first regular Ryobi impact that came with the gray charger and 2 gray cheapo batteries I bought for $99 on black friday 7 years ago. It's been very heavy used and the impact and 1 of the batteries still works. That's impressive and I expect nothing less from the new brushless impactRead full review

Great value for the money. I know for some people DeWalt or Makita are the be all end all names when it comes to cordless power tools. That's great if you are a contractor who uses those tools on a regular basis and one's paycheck depends on getting the job done without delays. But for the rest of us who don't need to spend twice as much for the same tool, the Ryobi brand has been consistent and reliable. I've purchased Ryobi drills, impact drivers, reciprocating saws, planers... pretty much everything a weekend handyman would need to get the job done. All the tools have worked; and some I've had for 15 years and are still running. If you need a good tool at a great price point, look at Ryobi.

I wanted an impact driver to test. This had the right combination of price and available batteries. It's very versatile, but slightly heavy. You can put up with the weight when you see the performance. I just tried it on the lugnuts on my truck. They spun right off without a hitch. I only do 100# on wheels. This would handle much more I'm sure. I expect to change over to Ryobi tools.

at 2200 inlbs the highest torque impact driver I could find. I haven't had it long but it works great so far. Ryobi seems to have cheapest batteries of major brands also. Maybe a bit heavy and not quite as low profile as some other brands but so far performs great and I expect a long life due to brushless motor. I make my living as a carpenter/handyman.
