It is a good idea but it won't stay lit. It would only burn for 3 or 4 second's and you would have to light it again. Waist more propane then you can burn. I tried on low on high and every settings in between.

Wont stay lit. Cant really adjust the flame. Takes longer to burn weeds then should. Burns right thru a small propane tank!

We had another propane torch that carried the small propane bottle and the only difference is that it also had an igniter. More convenient

Where was this when I bought the heavy one?
