The test of soil in my vegetable garden and power pots indicated depleted Nitrogen, Potassium and Phosphorus. The pH in the vegetable garden beds is 7 which is tolerable. It came out to be 6 in the flower pots. So I know why the vegetables were doing so poorly and the blooms look very weak. I will take remedial action and again test the soil to check whether it has become good enough or better. I am very happy with the product.

A good FAST test for N,P,K, Ph. ( it is NOT equal to a scientific test from a Lab. but it works well for the home owner. so you DO NOT at to much of a good thing, OR not enough.. Lots of instructions and steps to follow. You must be part scientist to do this. I've tested my soil in four different locations and the results have been consistent. I'm glad I bought this. I feel I'm better informed as to what fertilizer we will need to thicken the grass we have to support horses in our pasture. Our grass didn't seem very think and it looks like we are very low on Nitrogen. Our PH and Potassium seem ok.

We moved to a new house which had an established garden. We planted a garden this year and it was the worst garden we have ever had. We bought this soil test kit to try and figure out why it was such a disaster. We found that the PH was way to alkaline and the other values were way off too. So now we can amend the soil and try again next year! The kit was easy to use and the instructions were easy to follow. There are videos on YouTube for this kit. I found it helpful to watch them. The only potential problem is the capsules. I VERY CAREFULLY nipped the very end of them with scissors and bent the little piece of plastic back to get the powder out of them. You have to be very careful to get as much of the powder into the water as possible for an accurate test.
