The green stripes provide some minor shade for the plants which is great because I put it straight under bright sunlight. The shelf itself might require some weight to hold down like other reviews said to prevent toppling over, I put a granite brick on the bottom and all the pots I use are made of clay so that does the weight. The cover seems very sturdy, no problem with the zipper, it has already been through a rain and windy day outside. Overall, this product is definitely worth the price. Great functionality.
