I've been collecting for over 10 years and couldn't be happier with the results. Was a little skeptical because of the great deal, but I compared to my sisters ornament (which she bought before the holidays at a local reputable chain), and you can't tell the difference! I even got a nice bag which she didn't get. The actual triangle box it came in is a little cheaper and not as nice, but for the savings, I am ok with that. Shipping and packing were fine.

I've collected these ornaments each year since 2002 (so 17 years now), and the product I received is not the quality of the authentic Swarovski annual ornaments that I've purchased this year, or in the past. I ordered 3 of these earlier this season from Macy's and needed another (Macy's was sold out), which led me to ordering this after the holidays. The price made me wonder about it, but I considered that since it was after the holidays perhaps there was inventory to move...the many positive reviews made me feel more confident. Upon arrival, I noticed a difference in quality and decided to compare this side by side to one of the others purchased earlier this season. While the design (shape/style/markings) are identical, there is a noticeable difference in the quality. The printing on the box was not identical font size (which doesn't take away from the product, simply pointing out there was a difference), this was missing the info/warranty insert, the quality of the ribbon was different (this one also arrived untied and with a longer ribbon...I've purchased at least 3 of these each year, for 16 years, and have never had one arrive untied), the silver date tag and the crystal was lesser quality (the silver and crystal were both more dull). If you are not a collector, chances are you'll open this and LOVE it. But for those that value the quality and have other pieces to compare it to, you'd likely notice these differences. This was an add on gift, so I did still present it (after polishing up the tag and crystal to try to make it look nicer)...if this was to add to my collection, I would have returned it. Excellent value compared to retail. Arrived in perfect condition, promptly. I have a collection of these snowflakes (most acquired much more expensively than this year's) and love to watch them twinkle in sunlight, firelight or tree lights. In the sun, they refract the light... in the others, they sparkle. Either way, they're enjoyable.

I buy this annual issue ornament each year to carry on a tradition my mother started since its inauguration as she was a Swarovski member. Each year the star is very pretty and sparkles uniquely with each ray of light. This year, perhaps the cut is different, but it doesn’t appear to have any life to it. The packaging appears authentic, as does the date tag and ribbon, but the crystal appears substandard. I am wondering if this is one of the Chinese knock-offs I have been reading about. I will look at some on display in the mall and may return this item if I determine it is indeed a forgery.
