It's a very authentic model that allows for plenty of customization. Like PikeStuff kits, DPM kits do take a bit of sanding and filing to get it together good and they need painting, but it's well worth the work. I surely wouldn't recommend it to a first-time modeler; I consider myself medium-skilled and I find it a challenge to get it together sometimes. This has never stopped me from buying another DPM kit though. They are a very cost-efficient way to make a good-sized downtown area that looks authentic.

FOR ME, I prefer the DPM structures because they are compacted, easy to build, and if you want to have only FRONTS or BACK along the walls of your home layout, by adding thin foam you have a very realistic looking building. I do have some Photo back ground building, but to have the Woodland Scenic buildings, it gives much more to the scene instead of having everything flat. Woodland Scenic also makes great detail parts to fill in parts of the building scene to bring it to life. With DPM buildings you can put in interiors so that you can have realistic buildings on your layout, sometimes with ivy growing up the side of the walls. DON'T be afraid to BRING YOUR LAYOUT TO LIFE with detail but don't clutter it up so it looks like a junk yard.

I am pleased w/all my purchases of Woodland Scenics products. They fit in well - some nearly match - the HO scale layout of my home town I am working on.
