I bought this camera for my wife to learn and experiment with photography. She was always put off by the weight of my Nikon D700. So far I've been very impressed with the quality of photos taken with it and it weighs about a third what my camera weighs. Of course it is all plastic but they had to cut the weight from somewhere.

This is my first DLSR in over ten years since film died I have taken almost all pictures with my phone. The last entry-level DLSR I bought cost over $1000 and you either used it on auto or you had to know photography pretty well. This camera cost $300 (just under $500 with two lenses and it has a guide mode that makes it easy to use and takes great pictures. I got it to take pictures of my kids in sports and it works great. It takes pictures the phone just can't take and the quality even for family stuff is way beyond the phone. Way to go Nikon.

Really great camera with lost of accessories some I did not know what they were and would have look up what they were in the manual but it did not come with one which on the box that had the camera in it said that it should have been in there.
