this is my favorite band of all time by landslide! and i have reveiwed most of their albums and all have been 5 star ratings but i have to say this one is not. their first album is my favorite and its because its so raw. they have been changing from album to album and it kept getting better and better but this one kinda took a turn away from what they are. its pure progressive metal but its almost too new aged and i normally like every song they have ever done but i didnt love but three songs and liked a few others. half of it is just so so. i hope they never quit cause again i still love them but they cant take another turn in this derection. the infection was a lot different than the older stuff but i still loved it but i will give this album 4 stars because of the dissapointment. ever other album they have done is 5 stars. buy it if youre a big fan and if you want to try them to see if you like it buy their first album. pass out of exsistance. you wont be sorry you did. rock n roll!!! love yall!!!Read full review
As a fan of Chimaira already, I appreciated the direction they decided to go in this album. It kind of reminded me of The Infection at times in the way it gets slow and heavy, but they do it much better in this The Age of Hell. There were a couple songs that reminded me of Resurrection in the speed and vocal area, but they do a good job of keeping everything very controlled and contained so the music and vocals combine well. I like this album more than The Infection.
awesome album!
