Theses guys missed the boat by about 30 years. While they are a progressive band, they are also very radio freindly. Unfourtantly radio cares very little about music. The band that springs to mind is Kansas. Though far from a Kansas clone Ted Leonard can at times sound a lot like Walsh. There's also shades of Dream Theater in some of the heavier stuff like the opening track Under Fire. An IMO "Monday" the second track, could have been a top 40 hit 30 years go when radio was a bit more open minded. Or to put things in perpective, would we have ever heard "Wayward Son" or "Bohemian Rhapsody" had Kansas or Queen come about in the 90's instead of 70's. I'm sorry to say, probably not. Unforuntaly Enchant did come about in the 90's and even though they carry the same Radio Freindly Prog Flag Waved by Kansas and others, they ain't getting no love. There's plenty of Prog Moments and fantastic musicality for Prog Lovers, but this is a Album even non Prog Heads can get into. A Great CD all the way around.Read full review
After having purchased "juggling 9 or dropping 10" by Enchant and really liking it,I then purchased "tug of war." I liked that even better and did'nt believe they could possibly top that effort. I recently have purchased "Blink of an eye" and after about 5 or 6 listens back and forth to work I would have to say it is definitely one of my favorite prog rock albums. If I had to put an all-star progressive rock band together, Ted Leonard would be my lead singer. What a voice! Also,if you are a fan of Enchant, you should purchase"Thought Chamber's,angular perceptions." Ted Leonard is the lead singer and the music is very similar. Maybe a bit heavier but another awesome prog album.
