What a pleasant surprise. I knew the song Judas was really good, so I figured I'd buy the CD because the local radio station compresses this song so hard that it gets quieter when it's supposed to kick in. Anyway, the rest of the CD is very good also. Each song has great moments. I'm surprised with Jericho's vox. The vocal melodies are fine. The guitars are massive. Jericho has a bit of a funky tone to his voice, but at least it sounds different. He hits some great notes. The weakest thing about the album are the guitar solos. But once you accept that, the songs do stand on their own after a few listens. Could use more bass lines weaving through the wall of guitar sound, but I think they were going for more of a sub bass sound. The production is tight and mixed well even though the guitars are a little loud. I can understand this as I believe the guitarists engineered it. Long story short, don't pass this up based on the Jericho aspect. The band has delivered a solid CD that has nothing to regret, (accept maybe the rap breakdown on track 7). Very surprised and glad I bought the CDRead full review
