    This is the last great collection of tunes with Steve Perry as the lead singer of Journey. He is an amazing musician, songwriter & performer! I'm happy to add this to my CD collection.

    Journey...AGAIN !!!

    I had this CD several years ago and somehow it got lost. I'm sure most people can relate...does this sound familiar ??? Moving 5 times, New jobs, cities, states "friends" etc...Need I say more ? I absolutely LOVED this disc when I first had it. I know w/out a doubt I will love it even more now. How can I say that ? In my opinion ? Journey is like a fine wine that just gets better with age. Steve Perry (aka "The Voice") Neal Schon (No one better on lead guitar) Johnathan Caine (He's tops on keyboards) Ross Valory (the MAN on the bottom) Steve Smith ("The Animal" on the drum kit) I've seen them in concert 6 times amd they outperformed themselves...EACH TIME ! What else needs to be said ?

    Reviiew Journey trial by fire

    Trial by Fire was Journey's last album featuring vocalist Steve Perry and the only one to not accompany a supporting tour. That was due to internal disputes over a tour as a result of Perry's hip injury as he prolonged getting the necessary surgery. If the band had toured, the tour wouldn't start until over a year after the album's release. Perry left the band feeling that he was being forced out over his mulling over his decision to have the necessary surgery and because of the other band members' pressure to tour sooner than later. Drummer Steve Smith also quit citing that the band without Perry didn't interest him.

    Perry's last stand as the Journey frontman

    I bought this CD because I had a craving to hear the title track "Trial By Fire". Intersting that this album is NOT on iTunes. Its kind of sad because Journey had the opportunity to become even bigger with this CD. A supporting tour would have certainly meant future albums with the original lineup you would think. But, the tour never happened and this album eventually faded into the past. This is probably the 2nd or 3rd copy of this CD I've bought. I keep loosing them! Any die-hard journey fan should certainly check out the latest Journey recordings with lead singer Steve Augeri and drummer Deen Castronovo. It may not be the same Journey chemistry but it is a fresh but familiar sound that is still just as good in my opinion. As for this album, my favorite songs are ...
