Diel (a.k.a. Daniel Lee to those who have known him for some years) hails from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. With unmistakable voice, his songs speak the emotions felt but not expressed or expressible by most of us regular folks. This album is music of the soul and mind, shining light on joy, hope, love, loss, conflicted emotions, renewal. This album is rock beats, playful pop, serious guitar, and a window on our collective souls, with the occasionally quirky lyrics and fabricated words that Diel fans are hooked on. Yes indeed, dear parents of Diel, rest assured that English degree was a good investment... Diel spends his afternoons and nights performing, writing music, and driving to the next place familiar or new. His favorite coffee is anything that contains at least 12 packs of Splenda. His friends and fans feed his soul and like to think that they've made their way into one of his songs. Diel has shared stages with Shawn Mullins, David Garza, Cowboy Mouth, Jude, John Mayer, Michelle Malone, Jon Carroll, Devon Sproule, and Will Hoge to name a few. He has garnered recognition as a National Winner of the Mountain Stage NewSong Contest, Songwriter of the Year (Washington, DC Area Music Association), and Winner of the Eddie's Attic Shootout for Performing Songwriters (Atlanta), among others.
