Six singles have been released from Nickelback's "All The Right Reasons," which is more than half of the 11 songs on the CD, so you probably have a good idea what the album sounds like. Here's the track listing: 1. Follow You Home 2. Fight For All The Wrong Reasons 3. Photograph 4. Animals 5. Savin' Me 6. Far Away 7. Next Contestant 8. Side Of A Bullet 9. If Everyone Cared 10. Some That You're With 11. Rockstar For those of you who don't know, the six singles are: "Photograph," "Animals," "Savin' Me," "Far Away," "Rockstar," and "If Everyone Cared." While the whole CD isn't consistently good from top to bottom, there are some strong songs. I just wish there were more hard rocking songs. The first two tracks "Follow You Home" and Fight For All The Wrong Reasons" are nice, mid-tempo rockers. "Animals" is fast, hard rocker that you can really head-bang to. But the best hard rocking track is the blistering "Side Of A Bullet," a song dedicated to the late (and great) guitarist Dimebag Darrell of the Pantera fame, and features a guitar solo from Dimebag. For those who like the softer side of Nickelback, there's songs like "Photograph," "Savin' Me," "If Everyone Cared, "Rockstar," and "Far Away." "Far Away" was the song that convinced me to buy this CD. I don't really like singer Chad Kroeger's voice, but it fits this song perfectly. "Far Away" is one of the best songs that Nickelback has ever written. It is one of my two favorite songs of 2006 (the other one is Hinder's "Lips Of An Angel"). So yeah, I only like about half of this CD, but because of strong songs like "Animals," "Side Of A Bullet," and especially "Far Away," that was definitely worth the purchase of this CD, and that's why I'm giving it a score of 4 out of 5. Those of you hoping for more hard rocking may a bit disappointed, but if you heard the singles on the radio and like them, you'll enjoy this CD.Read full review
After again, being saturated in a multitude of new bands for what seemed like the millionth time, the cream finally rose to the crop, and to me Nickelback seems to stand out. The key to their success isn't necessarily innovation or creativity, they aren't Pink Floyd. But then again they don't want to be, and that's what makes their music fun. Nickelback gives us some traditional rock and roll that can be fast, slow and fun. Melodies we haven't heard before and entertwined with themes that we are very familiar with: hurt, love, loss, rage, fun, and regret. With the release of "All the right Reasons", Nickelback makes a very "complete" album that flows well throughout. The song "photograph" is a power ballad for the modern day rock scene and one who's popularity has not seemed to die down. "Fight for all the wrong reasons" has a great beat to it and is explosive as it is soothing. "Rockstar" is a great rock track that, like other songs of the theme, talks about what it takes to be one and the wants and needs that go along with the dream. A really fun, groovy track. Perhaps the best written song off the whole album, extremely well done. "Side of a bullet" and "Savin Me" are more down and dirty fast paced rockers that defitley don't take away from this albums overall senuine appeal. If Nickelback can continue putting out records like this, they'll be talked about for a long time to come.Read full review
First, I will confess the album is the best one that they have put out since there inception when the singer got tired of giving people nickles back; and yes there are some nice riffs here and there, but the vocals and the lyrics is what makes this album. These guys have an ability to write hit after hit using the basic techniques of rock music that seem to work over and over again. I play in a band and I will not argue that guy has talent. His brother, the lead guitarists has serious talent to and more than that they are some work horses. I once read that whenever he writes a song and subsequently catches his daughter singing it, then he knows he has developed a hit, I thought this was very interesting. The negatives about this album are in abundant to though. I mean, please just play the music and be creative, and just let it flow, your full of talent and I think the guy needs to let it out like Cobain or a Stapp. Every time I here these tracks I think of two things: 1.) Way too much influence from the record company to the extent that who knows what Nickleback really has to offer, and 2.) The Backstreet Boys with Guitars, please lay off those pretty melodies, this is why they play your songs into the ground. All said, I like the album for about 2 or 3 songs and then in goes the Creed or Alterbridge.Read full review
I bought this CD not knowing anything about the band only because of the high ratings it got,and I was a fan immediately,I loved every single song.I also purchased Dark Horse with the same order, and played that right after the first one and now I love the band and I am buying up all their other CDS.I highly recommend other people to try the CDS and see if you agree.

bought this CD because of one or 2 songs, ended up liking at least 5 tracks on the album. first off, american music in 2006 sucked and has been at an all time low for years. no one is making good music except for maybe the Chili peppers. everyone else is from another country, like Nickelback, U2, Nelly Furtado and Shakira. my favorite track is Savin' Me, followed by Far Away and If Everyone Cared. if you like acoustic guitars, you'll love these songs. Photograph is good and Rockstar is pleasing. If you're looking for a heavier rock tune, Next Contestant delivers. this CD is one of the best for 2006, loved it. you will too.
