This is a CD consisting of songs dropped from musical shows on their way to Broadway. Sometimes the omissions took place not because the songs were unworthy, but because they might not have filled the specific need of the show. We should be grateful to the compilers of this CD for giving us the chance to sample these "rejects", because many of them are truly excellent, and can stand on their own even if the shows are forgotten. Furthermore, the producers chose supreme musical artists to do the songs full justice, as each singer is well-suited to his or her particular song. This CD is therefore highly recommended, since it gives the lover of Broadway music a chance to enjoy songs that would otherwise have been lost to the ages.
