people come to new york city and see the glittering lights, traffic, tall buildings, restaurants, shows and clubs....but for those of us who have lived here our whole life, and have seen so much of it disappear, as well as the stories of what once was and where by our grandparents and parents can relate to this nostalgic view of the follies....not quite burlesque. back to the turn of the century and the music that still is sung and remembered to this day..and the 14th street that is all but gone..mays, luchows, loews 14th st...and the rest of manhatttan....shapiro's winery, ratners, sammy's roumanian, triplets,..the stores...korvette's, gimbel's, ohrbach's, b. altman,, best and co., bonwit teller, alexanders, abraham and strauss, b.gertz,..rumpelmeyer's, ruc, the eclair, cafe geiger, kleine konditterei, paprikas weiss, poseidon bakery, stork club, el morocco, copacabana, roseland, brighton beach bath club, stauch's...it's great to remember and pass on what once has been in old new york............Read full review
