I bought a house that I knew had a sump pump in the bare dirt end of the basement & expected water issues there which I got but were handled with the set up there. What I DIDN"T expect was the concrete end of the basement that is banked away from the dirt would have 5 inches of water! My son is a sprinkler fitter and described a portable submersible pump as what I needed to get. Wait, what? Hmmm. . . went into the basement and on a ledge there sat exactly what he described. It was an obviously used Master Plumber submersible pump. Set it on the floor, hooked it up to a garden hose plugged it in and aimed the output toward the sewer drain out front. That little pump cleared all that water in a very short time. After using it several more times it dawned on me that if that little used pump should wear out (and I have no idea how old it is), this old lady would be in trouble. Now I have 2 and total peace of mind. Bought online for half of what Lowe's wanted for a comparable pump that was not Master Plumber brand. I'm not interested in trying a brand I've not used. Highly recommend this pump.Read full review
