Ok so I'm very happy with this weadeater. However if I had known how much oil it uses would have stuck with a 2 cycle. You definitely need to make a habit of checking the oil every time you fill the gas. Not saying it uses that much seems to be about every 2-3 thanks. Other than that plenty of power have had no issues starting it. Good product.

The Ryobi RY4CSS weed trimmer is heavier and less powerful than 2-stroke trimmers of equivalent cost. It's also harder to start than some of that same 2-stroke competition. Oddly, it includes no shoulder strap, which would be expected given the units cost and weight. I regret not purchasing the equivalent 2-stroke, but over rated the convenience of not mixing fuel. There are good reasons why 4-stroke small engine yard tools are uncommon.

Trimmer works well. I got it for the motor. The oil isnt as easy to change and measure as it was on my troubuilt, but overall, it's a decent little 4 cycle motor.

Got one of these a few years ago, a 2 cycle. Finally bought the 4 cycle version. What a difference! Starts easy and runs great. Just needs routine maintenance to keep it in tip top shape. Make sure you get the 20w-50 oil it came with. 30 weight oil will heat up and smoke more than it should. Great little tool to use and I’ve used mine plenty hard over the years. Highly recommended for the average home owner yard work.
