I really love this tool. Got it because I got tired of lugging my 20 year old 80 lb. Rolair around that would dim the lights of the entire city whenever it kicked on. This thing purrs like a kitten, and because it draws such little power I can plug it in to an extension cord, something i could never do with the old beast. Fantastic so far, really pleased.

Was skeptical about how motor design would hold up. After owning for awhile now, still works like new! Run outside in extreme cold and doesn't even hesitate. Also, everyone comments about how quiet it is.

First crack out of the box, this unit seems to be all they said it. Well made, pleasant appearance. After reading instructions(that's a first) started it up and it ran well and did not leak. Small problem with relief valve blowing off at 120 psi, and the compressor not shuting off. A call to service rep # allowed me to dial back the high pressure set point to allow the compressor to shut off at 110psi while they sent me a new pressure relief valve supposed to blow off at 130 psi. Looking over the compressor the next day after shutting it off, found it held the pressure overnight and did not re-start when turned back on as the pressure had not leaked off at all. Very nice. Looking at the attachment points underneath the compressor unit, I found that three of the four 6mm nuts holding the rubber mounts to the base were missing and the fourth was loose. The nuts were not locking type and the washer was a flat washer, not the best situation for a vibration environment. A quick trip to the hardware store got me 4 6mm locknuts which solved that problem. I would buy another Californa Air Tools product should the need arise. These are minor issues with a good product.Read full review
