Quality and performance are very good. You have to make a decision early on which battery powered company you are going to go with, so it makes sense to go with the best (WORX is also very good). No more dealing with the ever present problems of gas engines and the trimmer is much easier to handle.

This is the 4th Greenworks GMax tool I have purchased and so far the only one I believe to be somewhat a waste of money. I will admit I have just come in from my 1st use of this tool so have limited experience with it. As a battery operated trimmer it does do a decent job, sans the short battery life if using the 2 Amp Hour battery. As a edger I would not recommend this product. It comes with very thin cheap nylon cord, replacing that makes a difference, but could only recommend it as an edger for very light jobs. If you have a decent size job to do I would highly recommend the 4 Amp hour battery for both this and the GMax blower/Sweeper use up the 2AH battery quickly. All the intakes of the trimmer edger get clogged very quickly and if the motor does not go away quickly I will be surprised. I can't speak to the quality of the product yet as I have used it only once, but like I said with this particular Greenworks tool I expect to be using the warranty before spring.Read full review

this is the 3rd greenworks tool and i am very pleased. my stihl chainsaw has the piston ruined by ethanol gas so my battery powered greenworks chainsaw is picking up the slack. the string trimmer is so nice to use, no pulling and cussing and frustration trying to get my gas one started. they are not for every job but sure nice for everyday. my neighbor just bought a greenworks tiller and we are sharing it as we both have small gardens. It also does a great job in the garden.

Bought this to do occasional weeding and to go with my Greenworks battery. Works well. String feed system not as good as my old Stihl but nowhere near the price.

It works as expected but does not seem to have the power that I would expect from 40 volts. It is quite loud and the buttons that lock the head in a horizontal position do not seem to close very securely. But for the money it is OK. If you wish to spend more look at a Dewalt trimmer. I have one of their 40 volt trimmers and it's power is far and above the Greenworks.
