The image quality on this set is quite amazing, especially when adjusted per Consumer Reports recommended picture settings. I'm a fairly technologically sophisticated guy, but the menu system and settings have a bit of a learning curve. Granted it is a "Smart" TV, and I may not be used to them, but the Samsung 40" "Smart" TV this one replaced was a lot simpler to set up and use. Granted it cost 1/4 of the price of this 55"!! This TV has the best image quality I've ever seen. If you can spare the extra $300, the QN558FN model supposedly has a better contrast ratio and backlight setup (among a couple of other things), so if you are a 4K enthusiast, it MAY be a better purchase, but having said that, I'm pretty home theater savvy (over 30 years now), and this model is certainly an excellent choice! Be sure to look up the viewing distance charts online, because if you sit at a certain distance back from the set, you will NOT see any difference between UHD (Ultra High Def) vs HD, and that's a fact!! The TV is set up at a little over 7 feet from the viewing position in my living room and that's the MAX!! Any further and UHD doesn't make the slightest difference in resolution (detail)!Read full review
