This is a serious hot glue gun, definitely not for unsupervised children! With that said, this might end up being your favorite tool ever. I bought it to tack down loose pieces of trim on my siding and with Gorilla glue sticks it does the job fantastic. I've repaired the oven door handle, kitchen cabinet, couch upholstery, a chair, mailbox, desk, bed frame, and more and I've only had it a couple of weeks. You'll find yourself looking for things that need fixing after buying this. Another great aspect is that it uses Ryobi One batteries that I already have and can buy more cheaply. It's also lightweight, easy to use, and no drips.

This is NOT for people with arthritic hands. First of all, my fault, I didn't realize I was going to have to track down a battery and charger separately, which made this quite expensive. I charged the battery and couldn't get it off the charger. I thought I had done something wrong, but I took it to church and one of the men took it off with ease. Turns out, my hands aren't strong enough. When I am using it, it keeps turning itself off and I have to wait, again, for it to heat up. I see it being used on Home and Family all of the time, which is why I bought it. I thought it would be great not to have a cord to work around, but am disappointed in it over all. They recommend using 2 fingers on the trigger, which again, is not for those with arthritis in their hands.

This thing works great!! Heats up just as fast a plug in version! You can take it Anywhere! Have never had the battery die on me while using it. Also a very nice distinctive feature is the Metal Tip to the main unit is "Rubber". With almost all other (AC/DC) manufacturer's, the entire tip in Metal. This being made of a heat resistant rubber, you don't get as much of the "Stringiness" when you pull away from gluing your project. Very highly recommended for being as good as a AC (plug in) model.

It is nice to not have to mess with a cord flopping around when you are crafting. I already had plenty of batteries. Gets really hot, but yet when you release the trigger you don’t have extra glue seeping out.

If you want a cordless glue gun, this is the one. I already had Ryobi 18+ tools so I had batteries. My wife wanted to try this so we purchased one. She LOVES it. We have tried other cordless and they do not have enough power to work or last. This uses a lot of power, but I have batteries so that is no problem. Since they are rechargeable, I see no problem going thru batteries.
