I just finished reading "YEAGER" yesterday & enjoyed it very much. It is a glimpse into his personal life as well. I found that interesting & that part, especially made me smile. Glennis, his wife, was a "stayer" & sacrificed much, though even in those many circumstances she remained herself & a great woman in her right. We should be grateful to her; I'm sure Chuck Yeager was. As he puts it, he was indeed a very fortunate man, to be born at the right time and in the right place, but for a great partner in life. Though I'm sure he was very ego ridden generally and obsessive about flying that is what made him and helped him do what he had to do in the line of duty. I call it "Divine Confidence". His work in the Air Force and for our country, I found to be MOST wonderful! He had what I call TRUE COURAGE. His insights in the book I feel are MOST accurate.Read full review
I read this book when it was first published about thirty years ago. This great American recently died and I am looking forward to reading it again.

This is the best book I've read in a long time I gave my last one away to a friend this is just a repurchase. Chuck Yeager grew up in an era will never be able to retain again. He was a Pioneer in his days, an outstanding pilot, and an outstanding physical specimen. He took Muroc, then gave it to us in the record books! awesome read.
