This seems well made and my cats do love it, even waiting next to it waiting to play. The 15 minute duty -cycle is not exact. Sometimes it runs about that but many times it is more like 30 minutes. This also may contribute to the fact it goes through AA batteries way faster that I figured it would when I bought it, 2 sets (8 batteries) a week so far using it a couple times a day. May have to try rechargeable batts.... Ultimately I would order again. Our young cat is totally enamored & it is getting our older pudgy cat some exercise!

After getting my cat a "Cat's Meow" (she loves it), and playing with her using a laser, which she loves to run around, I thought the FroliCat would be the next step for her. Well, it's a decent inexpensive product and has some potential. The laser power is strong (maybe too strong?), and the base is nice to anchor it fairly well. The cat might get up to it and easily push it over though. And I do like the adjustment to angle the mirror to different downward angles. It has been reliable. The only real reason for my tepid review is that I thought it was a little lame due to the simple X-Y circle that it continuously tracks. The randomness of the operation pattern also seems to be fixed at little bit of the slow side of speed and not random enough (i.e. slow or fast). It seems that a little more time in development and programming could have made this a much more useful and desireable damn cat toy. End story, my cat got tired of it fairly soon, and prefers human laser teasing! Damn it, she has me hooked!Read full review

My two year old cat has a lot of energy that we need to manage or he'll attack my 11 year old cat. Thankfully, he adores this laser and will chase it around endlessly. The only issue I have with it is that there isn't really a manual mode if you want to use it like a normal laser. You can pick it up to try to direct the laser where you want it but of course it is still moving unpredictably because there is no mode to make the laser stationary. Despite this, my cat loves it so I'm happy.

Entertains the cats for a few minutes at a time. It doesn't provide as much activity as expected, as the beam jumps erratically, and the cats don't follow it too well. They are engaged, however, but just not very mobile. While I didn't expect one, it'd be nice if you could set a timer or somehow activate it remotely, to give the cats something to do while you're away or at work. As it is, you press a button and the laser moves around for 15? minutes before shutting off. Pros: Cats are entertained Cons Is a bit too erratic for the cats to follow for active exercise Can't set the aim for the laser - the only adjustments are up and down. The farthest down setting points inside the device. No timer or remote activation (but for $15, I guess that shouldn't be expected)

My cats love chasing a laser dot. Problem is I work from home and they don't get that. Now I just press a button and we are all happy! My wife loves to watch them play, she laughs the whole time it's on. I put it out on the rail of my deck and shine it across the yard and the cats go BONKERS! I have burned through a full set of batteries in one night while they never stopped moving. Both cats have lost over a pound each; great for giving them exercise! I wish it had a more varied pattern and a setting that made it move a little slower; sometimes, when the batteries get weak, the cats lose sight of the dot too easily. It takes 4 AA batteries so I wish it had a wall wart to plug into.
