This was the authentic replacement product, as per the manufacturers item number. However, I must tell you that I did not use it for the refrigerators it was intended for. I used it on my Sub Zero model 550. Why? Because anything made for a Sub Zero cost A LOT of money! Whirpool (this part) cost = $11, Sub Zero parts cost = about $50 (for a peice of plastic??). One cam is $15+, and the other is $29+. You need the upper and lower cams for the bottom hinge on most refrigerators. I did some research and found while not all door cams are the same, this particular part came very close in the right ways. With the help of my Dremel tool, I modified the new plastic cams to fit the hinge perfectly. Understand that this refrigerator was purchased in 1992, and I have been keeping it going, with some creativity, despite several design issues.. I couldn't (and wouldn't) buy one of these today at a cost of around $5000. The old original cams (white not black like these Whirlpool parts) lasted 24 years. I think the 60+ pound door will swing well for some time to come.Read full review

The upper (door) cam worked fine. It is what I replaced. The original lower cam on my fridge was fine. However, the lower cams that came with this kit had the notches in the wrong places. The holes in both lower cams were also too small. Even when I drilled them out, the notches were in the wrong place. The upper cam lobes have to fit into the lower cam slots when the door is closed. These are offset, making them useless. Still, I really only needed on upper cam, and this kit had the correct one. So I really can't complain much because the price was no bad for that single cam that I needed. I was very lucky.

think this was one of the last of this product around. Saved our fridge/freezer - it lives to fight for a few more years now I hope! A bit pricey for what it is but way cheaper than a new appliance!

My refrigerator door wouldn't stay closed on my side by side unit. Bought this kit to repair it and it did the trick. Now the door works like new again... even closes itself when it gets close to being shut and holds itself open so I can dig for whatever goodie might catch my eye. If your door won't stay closed then this will fix your problem and it's not hard to install if you have some basic experience with tools. The repair took me about 10 minutes... that includes the time to unload the door and load it back up.

The parts were perfect for the repair, and the kit had a second set of parts in case your refrigerator had different size hardware.
