This book is so good its hard to put down. It is an easy read with great solid information. Gives hope to us who need to get healthy and lose a few lbs. This is probably the best 'diet book' I've ever read ( and I've read ALOT !) I feel wonderful, although, just a warning.....getting off the sugar for me was one of the most difficult things I've done in a while and my withdrawl symptoms were very severe for an entire week and then moderate in week 2. I Never want to go through that again. Pre south beach, all I ate were carbs, so I was very unhealthy. When I de-carbed my kitchen, all I had left was one can of tuna. Highly recommend this book for individuals and entire families. I give it a perfect 10 !!!!

I love that this book has an easy to follow guide for both phase 1 and 2. The meal plans seem overwhelming at first but once you make one or two you see how easy they really are and they aren't really more time consuming than what I used to make. I started on phase 2 since I have less than 10 pounds that I want to lose (2-3 pounds is all) so I just feel healthier from this "diet". After the frist day I was not hungry in between meals, the right combo of good carbs and protein is the key I guess!
The book is an excellent overview of the South Beach Diet. It has recipes and guidelines for daily meals. It explains all aspects of the diet and how we eat the wrong foods. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to lose weight the safe and easy way. I have signed up for the South Beach web site and have access to the diet information but the book provided insights I did not receive on line. I have tired other diets including Weight Watchers but with a traveling lifestyle and hectic work week it is difficult to count and measure portions. This book list foods to enjoy and foods to avoid, no counting measuring. The book is great
I LOVE the South Beach Program. It seems very healthy and teaches you to use herbs and spices for flavor foods rather than salt and fat. My husband and I started the program (again we had done it about 3 years ago with good results) Dec. 7th and are still in phase 2 today (Jan 5th). We decided that we wanted to loss weight rather than gain the usual 6 lbs. As of today I have lost 10 lbs over the Holidays. I can't remember ever being able to say that!
