This is a review for the refurbished DCS387B. Compared to the DCS367B, the more premier item, this one has a brushed motor as opposed to brushless in the 367B and therefore is probably less powerful and eats batteries faster. This is the one they often include in combo kits of which I have no use for. On the other hand, it is way cheaper and so far has been able to rip through anything I've tried -- no problem cutting through thick steel. It's compact and seems really great. Regarding "refurbished" it looked pretty much entirely new to me, although I assume it is refurbished in some way. What a steal! I used it for about an hour with a 4Ah battery and it only went down about half way, so depending on how much you plan to destroy at once, a 2 or 5 Ah battery may be appropriate.

Nice size and construction maybe, but when the blade is inserted and locked down, it flops around way to much, and makes it hard to get a cut started. I checked other Dewalts and they are all made this way. Dewalt might want to take lessons from Milwaukee on how to built this tool. I was disappointed, as I have a lot of Dewalt 20 volt tools and it would have fit in nicely.

I got tired of lugging my old electric sawzall around and after upgrading my old battery operated 18V drill/driver motor to the DeWalt 20V MAX system, I saw this recip saw for a great price. I have used it a couple times and I am more than satisfied with the power and performance of the tool. It is nice and short due to its angled design. The blade holder is very nice because of the clamping method and the fact that I can turn the blade 90 degrees in the holder to cut sideways if needed. This adds to the versatility of the tool. The 20V MAX 4 Ah battery just runs and runs too.

OMG. I use my reciprocating saw all the time for wood trimmings (trees/bushes/shrubs) This Dewalt replaced an electric corded saw. No more setting up my electrical cord then dragging it around. I had initial concerns of the power this 20V saw would deliver. No longer. Yesterday I cut down a dead 4" diameter Japanese Maple tree, then moved on to several large lilac bushes. Cutting them down and then reducing their length for garbage pick-up was quick and nearly effortless. Again, the power of this saw for small yard projects is great.

This tool is powerful!!! I am replacing another brand at 18 volts, and this machine is so much better and easier to use... I love it!!! And the multi position blade placement is going to be so nice to use!!! So far, I love it!!!
