About this product

Product Information

And just like that, one of the most watched and talked-about TV series of our time is on Netflix. We couldn't help but wonder if you've read the original bestselling book that started it all and "sparked a cultural phenomenon" ( Oprah ). Wildly funny, unexpectedly poignant, wickedly observant, SEX AND THE CITY blazes a glorious, drunken cocktail trail through Manhattan. Enter a world where the sometimes shocking and often hilarious mating habits of the privileged are exposed by a true insider. In essays drawn from her witty and sometimes brutally candid column in the New York Observer , Candace Bushnell introduces us to the young and beautiful who travel in packs from parties to bars to clubs -- and forever changes the conversation about women and friendships, women and power, women and love, and women and sex. "Fascinating... hilarious... welcome to the cruel planet that is Manhattan." -- Los Angeles Times "Compulsively readable." -- Marie Claire "Jane Austen with a martini." -- Sunday Telegraph

  • Such a Disappointment!

I brought this book because Sex and The City is one of my favorite TV shows. I thought that the book would give me more of the show. I was wrong. The book is nothing like the tv show. The characters are completely different. Carrie is more like Samantha. Miranda is totally different and not a lawyer. Charlotte only makes a couple of appearances and is not important. Samantha is a totally different person. There is no story. It is written in a haphazard random collection of bits and pieces and is very hard to keep track of characters. This book is not worth the time or money.

  • Excellent

Just as fabulous as the show! I enjoyed reading the book and also used it as a decoration for a Sex and the City themed bridal shower. I was able to take excerpts and quotes to use as well.

  • Nothing like the show or movie

This book is hard to read, it jumps all over the place and involves so many characters it's hard to keep track. It is nothing like the show, it has very little mention of Carrie, with even less of the other characters. It reads more like a bunch of short stories than an actual story about Carrie Bradshaw and her friends. I was disappointed....

  • Sex and the City

absolutely love this book. just as good as series. im a major fan of her work. she is smart, witty, and very in touch with the inside feelings of men and women. kudos!!

  • AMAZING -

I am a SEX AND THE CITY junkie. I loved the book. Wish it didnt end. I am very jealous of the SEX girls. THey seem to have it all together, when it counts. And that MR. BIG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
