Great price, lighted screen, long lasting battery, did require a software update from Barnes and Nobles web site super easy, am enjoying it. I use CloudLibrary from my local library and can load my library books to read without having to buy expensive books.

Among other things, there is no ability to view or read in landscape. There also is no ability to highlight or underline passages. No dictionary. The Kindle has all these features.

I have both the glowlight and the Kindle paper white. Both are very good. I'd give a slight advantage to the Kindle. It has a slight advantage in readability and is easier to download library books. That said, I like the B&N Washington Times newspaper better than the kindle version.

I got this nook to check out reading on a e-ink screen. eye doc said my tablet wasn't good for my eye. I do read better and less eye strain. Just know that a used screen has burn in line from last user. now that i know I like the e-ink I may replace this with a new one sometime soon.

I've always preferred the Nook over the Kindle because I like and use the EPUB format over the MOBI format. This is mostly for open-source reasons, though I recognize that Amazon is basically the King of All E-Readers now. This Nook, though, is everything I need. The e-ink is very readable. The light is sufficient, and adjustable. It's a speedy-enough-for-me display, and that display is big enough (similar to most paperbacks). It's got a great battery. If you're not willing or able to be beholden to Amazon's ebook format, this is a fantastic choice.
