Although I purchased the book "Scalextric" by Roger Gillham (2004) for the wrong reason, I still found it very informative and quite interesting. My intent was to do a little research on the new Digital Sport track offered by Scalextric. I was curious about this new wonderful improvement that allows lane changes and multiple cars on each slot. However, I did not realize that this book was published before the new track, and while digital track is mentioned in the book, it only covers a few speculative points, and no real meat. Of course, this is not the fault of the book, and I did enjoy reading about the long history of Scalextric. I was very pleased as a collector to see an abundance of images covering the production history of track, cars, and diorama items such as television towers and stands. While newer versions may have more information on the most recent production items, this book still makes a very good resource for older vehicles.Read full review
