For the price you really can't beat the sound. Its compact, produces a nice surround sound for regular sized room, you have control of the bass and other sound enhancement, and the option of hooking up different speakers if you needed to. The downfall is that doesnt have much for input from other components. I have read other reviews about people not being able to hook up their gaming systems and such, or their sound from their cable television through the stereo. The truth is you are very capable of doing both of those if you just read instructions and you use some common sense. All in all the system is very good for its price. Obviously the more you spend the better sound and quality your going to get.
I brought this system because I was on a tight budget..boy I'm glad I brought it. The highs and mids are clear and lovely...the bass is the cherry on the cake...just right. Has multiple audio outs and you can get an RCA switcher to add more to this thing. I have a fairly large basement...with it turned up half way, I can hear through out the area..even on the next floor. Simple to hook up and use... Now if your looking for something to hold you until you have enough funds to upgrade, or if your putting it in a room or apartment or basement, etc...I would buy it. But if your looking for heart pounding bass or a system to hear everywhere in the house...just system is not for you. Cons -The remote signal is weak..you basically have to be directly in front of the unit for it to work -Volume only goes to 40...which is very loud and clear but would have been great to add an extra 20 or so notches Overall I'm paired the system along with a sound bar to pick up some slack from the cons...had a extra couple bucks to add it to the system. The RCA 5.1 SYSTEM is really alot more then what i thought it was gonna be i thought it was gonna be some cheap little system for my bedroom that sucked well considerering that my bed room is prolly 16 x 14 but it make it sound like its a real movie theater i was going to get a bigger system like 600 watts for the living room but with this one i think the neighbors already are pissed off because almost every night now i watch movies either threw netflix or cable on demand but either way this system does well and the best part i like is you can adjust each speaker threw the system individually and i think that helps and if some one did set it up the correct way it is very nice but i think again its got to be hooked up threw hdmi if your going to watch a movie threw the system but if not it should be hooked up threw either the audio out on tv and audio in on system or optical audio and this will put out audio and surround sound thats like a theater experiance like a $300-$400 system i thought i would really regret this but its acutally better then the SONY DAVZT140 that this one replaced so i do really feel as if this was a upgrade ......AGAIN HOOK IT UP THREW THE WAYS I SAID AND IF YOU GO PAST 10 you will be like holy cow its pretty loud lol specially if its a house with other people there sleeping when my girl friend is in control she won't let it go past like 20 but i think it goes all the way up to 40 or 33 if you set it up how u would like to get the most out of it but again very nice piece in my opinion and i would recommend this product to people because again like i said its LOUD and BASS is good too GREAT FOR BEDROOM OR SMALL THEATER ROOM ........thanks hope i helped some one out on there purchase of a unit and i don't work for RCA nor do i sell there products this is just my review .....thanks for reading and hopefully i helped some one outRead full review
this system arrived as a whole unit and all does work .but the sound is always on treble . tinny to say the least. while using the remote to change bass treble etc ..all it does is increase the level of volume... BUT I ADDED A SUBWOOFER TO THIS , A POWERED ONE and it sounds good .if you use a passive sub , the sub wont make your system sound any better. so all in all ..RCA has let us down ...they used to be top shelf ....unless you add the subwoofer dont expect any real sound from this system .. plus the terminal wire connectors on the back are super cheap ..narrow and thin metal , with weak springs.also . im looking at maybe 75 watts here not the wattage they claim it to be.it works with a powered sub , but dont know if it will last many years without it finally quitting ....
Obviously there not some ppl audio or Bose sound quality but these speakers kinda past what I was expecting for what I paid but if you want a really really good sounding system wouldn’t recommend but if you are on a price limit these speakers will do you good
