Great burr type grinder. The only one I found that can dispense directly in to a paper filter. (I've always disliked grinding in to a container, then measuring out how much to use. It's messy, takes more time, and there's always stale coffee left in the container). The controls are very precise and I had my desired strength dialed in after about 4 cups. Now it remembers that so I just place a filter under it and push a button. Well built and smaller than I thought it would be so doesn't take up too much counter space. My only complaint is that I had to slightly modify my #2 cone filter basket so it would fit under the spout. It would be nice if they had an optional adapter for that type of filter. I think it was designed for flat bottom type paper filters or espresso filters

I bought this coffee grinder to replace the same model that I had for many years, but the changes that have been made to this new model were definitely not good! It is not straightforward anymore and the coffee could not be calibrated to make a good pot of coffee. Awful machine! I ended up giving it away after spending $200 on it

Lets start with the price....outstanding and very affordable....easy to use and instructions well laid out and straightforward....this is my first step up from the entry level....and for my needs so far it has performed wonderfully...I have an ec-155 DeLonghi Espresso maker and have been able to grind bean which have resulted in some great shots....so for that I am thankful. ...but for a more daily use as in grinding for my Hario V60/BonMac pour overs This baby really shines. ..dialling in grind settings for my different types of beans was a breeze....same goes for my French Press...the many different grind settings allows for quite a bit of experimenting thus making dialing in the perfect grind pretty simple...only advice at this point I can offer is when trying to dial in the desired setting only move one position either way...if you need to adjust....it only took me 2-3 tries before I was pretty much in the zone for outstanding brewing and the ability to be consistent from cup to cup...I am about 6 months into this Coffee rabbit hole...so in summary I highly recommend this grinder for those looking to take a step up from the entry-level Grinders....and at the same time not break the bank....oh and lest I forget....cleaning is pretty quick and painless. ...yet a step that must be done on a regular basis. ...Read full review

This grinder is well designed. There are features like the magnetic portafilter holder that are just good ideas. The removable tray makes it a snap to clean and the little canister fits perfectly so no grounds get out. The really nice thing is that this grinder has a pretty good particle size range. You can grind espresso to a french press grind. We did, however, have to adjust the conical grinder to get a larger french press grind. But the design of the grinder made that a snap.

#1 is to read the entire manual. b/c I have had 8 grinders through my life I thought I knew how to do this. That would be, 'not.' But I can say this with all the features and levels of 'it's greatness' I say this: if you are a 'coffee snob,' this is the machine for you. if you want espresso fineness or french press coarseness or in between, this grinder can deliver it all. Pretty impressive~ great job Breville, you knocked this model out of the park and I am sanctified my money spent was well worth it!
