Excellent computer for the non-racer. It's easy to use and provides all of the information that a rider needs. The mapping is excellent and additional maps can be added if needed via Open Streets. The screen is large and easy to see in bright sunlight. The unit also syncs with Garmin's Varia radar tail light if you so choose.

The screen is big and clear. The automatic update feature with your phone is convenient. For those away trips "LiveTracking" is a nice feature. I'm sure I haven't discovered all the features this GPS can provide.

The user interface is a bit finicky. You have to learn how the Garmin designers think. It's not always intuitive. But it seems to be consistent and not too obscure. When entering a destination the street without a house number should be acceptable. The battery life isn't great. It would be nice if the micro USB charging port was on the side so it would better to plug in an external battery or generator. It would be nice if it could handle ANT as well as ANT+. The scale marker on the bottom right of the map screen is way too small. Occasionallly it loses track of my location which is no good when you're relying on it. I don't know how that happens - or if there's a way to restart the GPS component so that it relocates itself.

So far I love this computer. It has so many features but easy to get started with. Will take a while to explore all of it's features.

I have not used the Explore yet. I don't know how to attach it to my handlebars. I don't know if it is wireless. I have charged it up through my computer and wish there were a wall plug so I didn't have to get to the back of the computer to charge it. As far as playing around with it, it is very intuitive, just don't know if it will work ON THE ROAD yet. To get set-up info you have to log into the Website. It does not come with instructions. Also, it is a lot smaller than I had expected, which is kind of a good thing. I want to be able to follow a ride leader, copy the route and then be able to ride the route again on my own. I think this is the correct Garmin for the job.
