The Boost MC-401 is the first from the MXR series of pedals to incorporate the unique sonic stamp of renowned designer Bob Bradshaw. This Dunlop boost pedal has a simple design but it is highly effective. This Boost line driver can solve a wide range of mis-matched line level and signal conditioning problems that can occur when combining effects. The Boost MC-401 has a very successful circuit design that has for long been used by leading guitarists during rigs to solve level problems. This Dunlop boost pedal is a dynamic pedal that will make your gig go awesome by bringing back the punch and sparkle that is normally lost. The Boost line driver also works well as a super clean boost for solos.

Surprisingly versatile
Some have complained that the drive side veers into distortion earlier than they like, but all this really does is give you one of the most capable little boxes available. Don't like the snarl? Don't put the gain past 12 o'clock. That easy. If you do wanna get into that territory, it's available. The boost is fantastic for punching up your solos. GREAT CLEAN BOOST!!!
I had been looking for a boost pedal that didn't color my sound or change my sound in any way. i came across this in my research and figured i'd give it a try. I was floored by the absolute transparency of this pedal. It took my exact sound and just increased my volume. Many people claim that this pedal doesn't do anything but overdrive the sound a little, but what they don't tell you is that they aren't running this pedal correctly. This is meant to be placed at the end of the effects loop. Here it provides totally transparent boost. I also use mine at 18v instead of 9v. This increases the headroom and makes this pedal scream. I would definitely buy this again if something happened. My other guitarist actually dumped his boosta grande which is also a clean boost and bought one of these. ...
