These go for a great price and they only need one AAA battery as opposed to my older one which uses two AA batteries. That brings it down to about a third of the size not to mention the much brighter light owing to the LED bulb.

The light is actually bright but, the clear tube that reflects it is very hard to keep still in the rubber base. When you try to insert it into a barrel for inspection the clear tube spins around and will not stay in one place. It's hard to try to get it into the bore and look down it at the same time.

I've never used a bore light before purchasing this one. It has made a world of difference in how clean I can get my barrels. I would recommend this light. It's not of very good quality, but it's a great place to start. You can even use it as a flashlight.

I have owned two hopp's bore lights. Both of them were kind of cheap made and a yellowish light. This little bore light takes less batteries and it's a bright white light. It's also alot better made and I'm not afraid to drop it!!!
