very excellent tv tuner, picks up signals great if used with a decent antenna and if the antenna is position well. very easy to setup and use. DVR function is great, picture quality. if you have multiple family members, i highly recommend the 4-tuner model

Setup was straightforward: just plug in your antenna and do a channel scan. Mobile, browser, and Roku support is good. Overall reliability is about 95%. When it works, it works well. Occasionally, the Tablo refuses to play recordings and live TV. It's annoying that there is no way to measure signal strength in real time. Your only option is to do a full channel scan. Also, it doesn't downmix surround sound to stereo. So if you record in surround sound, audio doesn't play on Android or in a browser. There's a lot of potential here, but I'm going back to my TiVo because it's 100% reliable instead of 95%.

If you have cut the cable cord like me, this device is a must have. It scans and sets up all channels within range of your antenna. You can then cull out the junk and remove channels from the line-up. The on-screen guide is also amazing. It shows everything you can view and allows you to easily manage your recording and playback schedule. It uses program icons for each show to setup the schedule. Playback can be to any of six device on your network. phone, tablet, TV or PC. The app is easy to use. They do charge a monthly fee currently of $4.95 after your first 30 day free trial for the on-screen guide updates, but the guide is so amazingly useful, it is well worth the investment. You can save a few bucks by purchasing a one year or lifetime updates. The only downsides that I have noted is that my LG app on my smart TV only allows you to play/pause live TV. It does not have the fast forward and rewind buttons like the apps for all my other devices. I have a media center attached to my TV so I just use the app on that Win 10 system to view content. The other slight down side is that some older 480i content displays in 4:3 requiring me to zoom the screen. Overall, I can't imagine an active cable cutter not having one of these devices.Read full review

Well, it IS easy but a PITA to figure out and setup. You only need to do it once, and it's not hard. I already had a Roku and an external drive, so I was good to go. Too bad Spectrum is losing out!

Cost is a bit high, but as a recent cord cutter this is great to get my local channel on all tvs without a bunch of antennas.
