I’ve tried long and hard to find a book that would help me have a better understanding of opening/running my own business and have hit a dead end. I’ve bought several books online. They were informative, but very brief. This book is by far the best I’ve read. Everything is explained from the actual business owner’s (Carol Schroeder) point of view in great detail and in very easy terms the average person can understand. This is not a simple pamphlet or 150 page book filled with websites that lead you around in circles or gives you repetitious information. This book is a comprehensive guide that is filled with strong, sensible information that covers areas you would never think of. She describes the joys and benefits as well as the pitfalls many new store owners make that will lead to failure. There are examples of ready-to-use forms, pics of displays, glossary of retail terms and so much more. Also, family and personal financial sacrifices are mentioned. Many questions you have will be answered here. This is definitely a must have, must read book. This beats any information you will find on the internet or other books claiming to be the best.Read full review
