I am about 82 years old and my old hands are getting shaky, my writing is getting bad. I use it for writing checks and addressing envelopes and filling out some forms that other people have to read. the key strokes need to be hit pretty firm to print.. the computer keyboard has got my finger used to a light touch so it take some effort on my part to type. my old finger are not as good as they were back in typing class in high school in 1957. for the price it not a bad typerwriter.

The typewriter just didn't work very well. I have no idea if it was just a lemon or if this is how all of this kind are. You had to push the keys pretty hard just to get them to the paper solidly and the type would not always be even and there would constantly be spaces where I didn't want spaces, and spaces of different lengths. I am returning it ASAP.

I just finished typing ten pages on this wonderful typewriter this weekend. I have read some bad reviews on Amazon about this item and I have to say that they are most probably from people that have never typed on a manual typewriter before. I have and I still had a relearning curve. This typewriter will do everything you want to do on a typewriter except let you know when you've made a mistake. I am writing a book and I started it on a new modern electric one. I stopped after awhile and it never dawned on me why I lost interest until I read a little note on why writers need a typewriter. It all made sense. I got distracted by the continual interruptions from the automatic dictionary telling me I made a mistake,(it wasn't a coachable dictionary so every foreign word was beeped continually). I got worn down from having to tell the typewriter to ignore that word AGAIN!!! This will allow you to make mistakes without exacting a toll on you. Most of the time these are rough drafts of a story anyway. They will be scanned into a word processor and all of the errors will be corrected forthwith anyway. So, my advise is to buy this. I just received the typewriter and found that it skips a space frequently. This causes me to have to back space and fill in the missing letter. I understood this was to be a new product but it performs like a re-conditioned one. Most disappointed
