I was looking for the kind of fishing a guy could do indoors in the winter and the kind of hunting a guy could do all year round no matter the seson or the time of day. I found it! While I did experience some difficulty moving down the trail and trying to go around objects while maintaining my direction and keeping the target in sight, the fact that you really have to consider things like wind direction and position, or risk spooking off your prey, made my heart pitter-patter. It didn't take long till I could feel the cool breeze on my face and hear the leaves crunching under each step. It's worth the very resonable price paid!
This is the best hunting game I've seen for Wii and the best I've seen Cabela's come out with, reviewing back to Gamecube. I caution young players for realistic scenes after an animal gets shot, although the realism is a bit exaggerated. I will also add that after turkeys get shot, they fall right there and don't move...which is not like a turkey. The fishing isn't bad nor is it good. And as far as small game/varmints and birds go...pretty fun. If you're a hunter and enjoy hunting video games, I recommend trying this game. If you're tired of all the others, I don't think you'll be disappointed with Cabela's Outdoor Adventures.
A "realistic" hunting game. Finally, a Wii game got it right by having the option of actually pulling the trigger when using the controller in the Wii Zapper or Shotgun mode, giving you the more realistic feel of shooting a real gun. Quietly stalk, call, and sneak up on game as well as play levels where you will fish and bird hunt. Not as fun as some of the non-realistic shooters in this genre, but if you are looking for a game with variety, depth, different ways to hunt, and a more realistic feel then definitely pick this one up!
I bought this game for my boyfriend it was a great decision. The hunting in this game is very realistic giving you gun choices, scent cover, and calls. There is not only hunting in this game but fishing as well. You must actually hunt for the animals and fish they do not just come out for you. The downside it is very hard to learn the controls of the game, but once you do it is great fun. Another thing that I wish was different is that there are only two modes to play in: story mode, where your guide tells you when and what you will hunt, and a timed trophy mode where you make deer to shoot and then get a timed hunt to find it. That being said I would not let that discourage you from buying the game. That is a minor detail that is made up for the the quality and life-likeness of the game. I have several hunting games and this is the best one I have found for life-like hunting. If you are looking for that real experience this is the game. However, if you just want to shoot things like in The Great American Bird Hunt Game another game would be better suited for you. Overall Excellent- Very SatisfiedRead full review
The controls are a little awkward, would have been better if u could change it the way u like, but nah. gameplay is pretty linear, it moves u along telling u where to go what/which to shoot, instead of letting u free hunt (roam aound, actual hunting). Graphics are good enough. I decided to buy to it cause I'm still looking for same gameplay i got from the Outdoor Adventures from the Playstation 2. So far every game ive boughten after Outdoor Adventures for Playstation 2 hasn't measured up. Outdoor Adventures for the Playstation 2 is the best! Buy that one instead!
