This is a pretty good game for the genesis. It is a different take on your standard dungeon crawler game, with more emphasis on exploration than fighting monsters. It also Has some standard RPG elements to it were common in that era. It could have changed the difficulty a bit by allowing access to better equipment earlier, and there is almost no new equipment past level 10, but overall it has very solid game-play.The music is very nice.It has one of the best soundtracks of the old genesis games.the controls may take a second to get used to, as it has a very unorthodox control scheme. The enemy sprites are rather generic, with the later monsters being simple re-coloration of monsters of previous levels. However despite these drawbacks, it makes up for it through its game play.
The is one of the best if not the best, classic style console rogue-like. This is the sort of game that can take countless hours from you, without you even knowing it. The premise is simple.. You're thrown into a dungeon with 30 floors. Each floor is randomly generated each time you begin, so the game is never the same twice. You explore each floor, fight monsters, gain items, weapons, and eventually find the stairway to the next area (if you survive that long). Some items will aid you, and others will hinder your progress. The name of the game is caution, strategy, and just a little bit of luck. If an RPG with an arcade-y feel sounds like something you'd enjoy, give it a shot. This really is one of the most addicting games on the console.
