About this product

Product Information

Championship Bowling is a basic rendition of the sport littered with unnecessary flaws. There are four characters and a variety of ball weights to choose from, but the difference between them is little more than cosmetic. With only a limited amount of hand-eye coordination, a player should easily be able to master a steady throw, but the consistency of the results doesn't seem to mirror the consistency of the throw. Strikes are a rarity, and splits are far more commonplace than in real bowling. And although players can't bowl simultaneously, multiple controllers are inexplicably needed for more than one player. <! -- Book -- >

    Simple but effective

Simple bowling game, but interesting enough to get my autistic son's attention. So far he enjoys it.

    TOO Easy

This bowling game is not very challenging. I was able to get strike after strike using the second bowler and a 9 lb ball. The pin strikes are very trivial and they sound like water drops on a pie pan. To top it off, the music is REAL annoying and repetitive which was common in early NES games. Just imagine hearing the Loony Tunes intro over and over and you'll get the idea. Higher quality bowling games are out there, so don't waste your time or money on this forgettable release.

  • Championship Bowling: A Fairly Decent Bowling Game

The game play has been done nicely for an NES bowling game. Everything is smooth and transitional. This is a 4-player game, which always increases the game play value. Since the NES console only has 2 controller ports, you must plug 2 controllers in and swap controllers for 4 people to play. There are 5 different lanes you can play on, each lane with a unique color scheme and oil pattern. In addition, there are four characters you can choose to be, and you can also change the weight of your ball. Like in real life, all of these different things, though you may not think it, drastically affects your game. When you finally get onto the lane with all the options picked out, there are 3 variable things that you choose to throw the ball. First, you must choose the position on the lane that you ...
