My 6-year-old son loves this game. It has definitely sustained his interest. The graphics are childlike (images of children and cartoonish in style.) The voice-over track is a bit repetitive and unimaginative, but the actual game is a lot of fun and very realistic. His friends have enjoyed playing it as well. There is a huge array of teams to choose among: pro teams, as well as Super Mario Brothers characters and others. You can also select a game setting. I definitely recommend this game for a younger child.
I like this game more than the Wii Sports baseball game. The pitch selection is more varied than in Wii Sports and being able to pick MLB players as well as kids that are made up is fun! The only thing keeping me from giving this an "Excellent" rating is that the process of picking teams is kind of slow. It can take more than 15 minutes to pick sides if you're not familiar with the players. I guess having so many players to pick from is a good and bad thing. Overall, once you get to know your favorite players, it's not so bad picking the teams and it's the only thing I think needs some work. I would be nice to be able to download extra baseball fields and players too. Haven't had too much luck figuring out how to unlock some of the fields, although I did unlock some of the extra players. its alot of fun and you can mix and match players from your favorite teams ...you can also play as two player as well ,,,,took some time to get the hang of the controllers butonce you figure it out it's alot of fun
