I used to play this game over 10 years ago and though the graphics leave a lot to be desired as do most PS1 games, the gameplay is great. Video games can have excellent graphics but can fall short in other areas, and Destruction Derby is enjoyable enough to keep me interested, old-school graphics and all. The game Destruction Derby Arenas for PS2 is the most recent of the series to come out. I have never played it, but after reading reviews online, it seems that the game misses the point of its predecessors by awarding more points for 'spinning' other cars versus wrecking them. Stick with DD2.
