My wife walks our 3 small dogs daily through our neighborhood. Has been doing so for over 20 years (actually started with a couple of larger dogs 25 years ago) but you get the gist. 6 months ago people moved into the neighborhood with dogs which they thought were trained (invisble fence). After an ugly incident and a handful of trips to the vet, the new residents put up an additional perimiter. nontheless, everytime my wife (the whole 110 lbs of her) and the dogs turned the corner, the big dogs start charging toward the perimiter of the yard, scaring the crap out of everybody in the walking party, to the point where she stopped taking the walk. Bought the high tone horn. Taught her how to set it off (tested with our dogs on the leash a few times to get them used to it), and set her off on her way. The next day the set off on their walk and the first time they walked around the corner towards the yard where the two big dogs reside, I was told they came charging! I did heard the barking then a short blast of the horns from my house which is about a 1/2 mile away. I did not want to follow them espically after all the theatrics that went on after the attack with the big dog owners wife. The barking stopped immediately and was not followed with a HELP phone call or text. 40 minutes later my wife and pups strolled up into the yard happy as could be! My wife said the dogs started to run and bark directly at her when she turned the corner into their sight. She pointed the horn at them and hit it twice for two quick blast and they stopped and sat straight down. She said they went through the rest of the neighborhood and when they came back up on the property with the big dogs, and the dogs spotted them, the came running towards them without barking, got to about halfway across the yard (its about a 3 acre lot) and sat down again. The next day they went out on their walk with the same results and they have had success since that first day. My wife still carries the horn with her. Not sure if the dogs can see the Orange holder that I bought at the boat store that belts on (supposed to be color blind) but they have not even barked since. Can teach a dog a new trick. But that horn really got their attention. The fact that they don't want to hear it again is true in this case. She would not let me buy her a gun. This is next best thing...trust me... and a hell of a lot less expensive.... WALK WITHOUT FEAR RUN WITHOUT FEAR!!!!Read full review

This might be a decent horn but the caned air that comes with it is good for one shot. The can felt like it was empty, but I guess that is the way they come. You can spend a little bit more and get one from a local hardware with a real can of compressed gas.

Super loud! Works great for waking up my neighbor at 1 am when I get off work from 2nd shift. They wake me up in the early morn and are rude and have a lot of disrespect towards others. This air horn helps me do a "eye for an eye" payback for being such ignorant neighbors.
