I bought this to replace a 20 year old Capresso coffee maker that served me well until the grinder quit working. This model is somewhat different in the grinding and brewing process, and has an included gold mesh filter basket replacing the paper filters used by the previous model. The brewed coffee is excellent. I give it 4/5 stars only because it is a little tricky to reseat the carafe, and it seems inconsistent when grinding small (2 cup) servings. Oily beans (very dark roast) seem to not feed well for small brews.

We have been happy Capresso users for more than 20 years. When our twice rebuilt Capresso finally fatally failed, we purchased the newest version. Since receiving it we have been regularly disappointed as follows: 1. grinder does not move coffee directly into brewing basket leadibg to much spilled grounds. 2. #of cups of water and #of cups ground do not match. Must grind much more coffee than volume of watter. 3. Coffee pot does not easily fit onto hot plate. It conflicts with drip spot. 4. Grinder regularly clogs. Directions say to clean grinder path weekly. That is too much. Generally, disappointed after so many years of successful Capresso service. Want to return the item but having trouble working with supplyer, NIKO at new-sealed! Have not received return instructions.

I bought this "Coffee team" model as a backup in case my old one burns out. The 464 has a glass carafe and the 465 has a stainless pot that keeps the coffee hot for hours. This model of Capresso grinds the coffee just before brewing. Everything is preset on an electronic panel or you can instantly brew at the push of a button. The pot uses replaceable water filters and has a metal fine mesh filter basket for the grounds. It makes such good coffee that I now roast my own to complement the Capresso.

It is simple to use and is by far the best grinder/brewing combo available. It is a perfect size. It fits nicely on any kitchen counter and looks fantastic. There are a couple of drawbacks...the coffee bean reservoir is somewhat small. You can only brew two 10 cup pots before having to refill the bean hopper. As it has a number of moving parts it is a bit of a project to keep it clean. This is especially true for the chute that directs the beans from the grinder to the filter basket. This is the fourth Capresso I have owned over the last 16 years. I have used these machines at least once per day every day. They are well built machines. I just hope that they continue to produce them.

I needed to replace the Cuisinart Grind-n-brew that I have used for years. I like the idea of fresh ground beans every pot, but was increasingly frustrated by the hassle of cleaning the Cuisinart. After reading several reviews, I decided to give this a shot. This thing rocks for us! Easy to program, easy to clean and load the beans, excellent coffee to our taste (strong, hot and black). Some have complained about the noise, we have not found it any more noise than the Cuisinart, easy to put up with for all of the other conveniences this machine offers. My wife loves the fact that she can make a short pot when needed without relearning any of the programming. Same for changing the start time for auto-brew feature. The only drawback we have found is that the warming plate only keeps heated for 2 hours after brew, and that's only a hassle when I leave for work more than 2 hours before her. Minor inconvenience and it keeps the coffee from tasting burnt. Overall, very satisfied with this machine!Read full review
