For 31 years, the serial killer known as BTK raised terror in the small town of Wichita, Kansas. Starting in 1974 and ending in 1991, BTK killed 10 people and resurfaced in 2005, in which the BTK killer was captured. This is the story of how police found, captured, and convicted the vicious killer named Dennis Rader. Gregg Henry is just about the busiest and talented guy in film. He plays this role to a tea. It's so perfectly ridiculous that the case had grown cold, yet the detectives finally turned up information about Rader's (Gregg Henry) personality traits to taunt him to respond to the police. This taunting by investigators finally yielded some startling revelations about a man that laid hiding inside his safe world and could have possibly never been caught for his crimes. Rader ... He attended church. * * * * * * - S P O I L E R * * * * * * Funny that turned out that computer files were the only thing that tied him to the communication with the police which lead them to discover who he was and what he was admitting to. This Made-For-TV film is very well directed and makes you see how mentally deranged a person can be and can hide behind their simple lives with little to no means of detection. You may want to see the film and then read the John Douglas (FBI profiler) book before or after viewing. In his book, Douglas leads us through the BTK's childhood practice of sadistic torture of animals which led up to the ultimate control over helpless human victims the same manner. If you didn't already know, B.T.K. stands for bind, torture and kill. I'll give this a 5/5 for its creepiness and Gregg Henry's convincing acting ability. Hunt for the BTK Killer
This movie is a good overview of the story of the hunt for the BTK killer, Dennis Raider. It shows what a sick (evil) mind he has and many times the police are within a couple of chairs of him and don't even know that that is the killer! This movie is a little slow in places, but it seems good in the made for TV type of movie genre. I understand there is another movie on this subject and that that movie was poor. I don't know about the other movie as I have not seen it. You keep thinking that they are going to catch the BTK any minute and then they don't catch him until the end of the movie practically.
