I have two pair of these, two on port side and two on starboard. I fish from a 13' canoe and these holders work excellent not only for vertical bait fishing but trolling as well. I love the fact that when it's time to load the canoe all I have to do is pull the holder out and it's out of the way. Good product, good value.

These rod holders look just like the Berkley rod holders in the ads; however, they are much larger and swallow the rods. I purchased them because I thought they were Berkley clones and were half the price. The side mounting system is identical to Berkley's except larger; they do not come with surface mounts as the Berkley's do. Additionally, the clamp knob interferes with rotation in several mounting situations. I made mine work, but I wouldn't buy them again. You get what you pay for!

my only concern is once they were installed on the gunnels of my boat---they seem a little flimsy ---- I do a lot of trolling with lead line

Ordered the two pack of Wise rod holders for my bass boat that I just purchased. It has a pair of Atwood rod holder brackets installed, but they looked similar to the Wise rod holder brackets, so I decided to purchase the Wise brand. I ordered these figuring if they didn't work with the Atwood brackets, I would just change out the brackets with the new Wise brackets. Received the Wise holders and removed the brackets from the rod holders and behold the Atwood and Wise brackets are basically the same right down to the index pin. Can now installed a pair of rod holder brackets in the aft pedestal position and have a choice which to use, left, right, front or rear. Holders and brackets are of outstanding quality, so am extremely happy with the purchase and also the price point was outstanding.Read full review

The quality and value is good but the way the mounting bracket is designed would not fit my pontoon rail(holes not far enough apart, up and down) which is 1.25 " wide. Had to improvise. Also, it needs a back plate.
