Something You Need to Know
In modern times, this is where it all started with the destruction and subversion of western culture. This is a must read to understand the enemy and to have a hard copy of original writings of the enemy. This is advanced reading level literature. I am pretty familiar with most of the terminology in this pamphlet but the advanced terminology coupled with the old terminology and phrases I can see myself buying an additional book for helping to understand this and I understand it very decently already. You just have to have previous experience learning about this to have a decent enough grasp on what is being said here. If this is the first purchase in studying the enemy than I would buy it anyways simply based on price but go ahead and start doing other research and get acquainted with ... The communist manifesto is the bible by which Marx and Engels spurred the masses to try to take over the world. The explanations of the horrible working conditions that workers endured in the beginning of the industrial revolution are compelling, but the need for people to own property, or have the opportunity to own property, and to be able to improve their lives by their own efforts was not understood and appreciated by M&E, or any one else, back in the day. The communist manifesto is an important part of history but reading it is like slogging through mud. A guide book for dictatorial regimes
In the 70s I was asked if I wanted to join a group of "revolutionaries" in San Diego, California. The leader of the group assigned me several books on communism to read, and "Manifesto of the Communist Party" was one of the books. At the time it seemed like Communism was a beautiful dream. A dream that I believed couldn't be realized because of humanity's inherent greed. It seemed evident to me that a worldwide utopia was an impossible dream, however beautiful. In the last 35 years of watching world politics, it has become apparent to me that every dictatorial regime on the face of the planet is guided by the principles of socialism/communism. In the 20th century socialism/communism was the most murderous concept devised by man. Approximately 100 million ... Then they are systematically robbed of every human right, except the right to have every aspect of their existence controlled by the party. The utopia becomes a dystopia, wherein the socialist/communist ruling elite are far more dangerous than the capitalist bourgeoisie ever were. I bought 'Manifesto of the Communist Party' by Marx & Engels, and 'Rules for Radicals' by Saul Alinsky, so I could see where our 'Dear Leader' Barack Hussein Obama wants to take America. But, Obama is a much worse dictator than I formerly believed. The only thing that will save America from becoming the USSA (United Socialist States of America), is to vote the bum out in 2012. Good luck America, you're going to need it to survive Obama the destroyer . . . Oh yeah, I almost forgot - "Manifesto of the Communist Party" by Friedrich Engels & Karl Marx is a piece of garbage written by a couple of 19th century pseudo-intellectual crackpots. These two men have turned out to be two of the worst humans ever born. Their book has fueled the destruction of entire nations. These two men should be viewed as demons, and their acolytes should be shunned before they destroy America. Buy a copy of "Manifesto of the Communist Party by Friedrich Engels, Karl Marx (1948, Paperback)", so you wont be confused about what communism is. Everyone should familiarize themselves with this dangerous concept of communism, so they will know how to free themselves from the purveyors of this totalitarian ideology. Informative, and historical piece.
An excellent work that has value to all audiences alike. Whether one stands as a capitalist, fiscal conservative, or a socialist advocate, anyone can take a lot from this book. Very short in length, but the content is much to be talked about. Outlines the very fundamental principles of Karl Marx's theory of communism. A great read for those interested in economic, political theory.

Disappointed
My copy arrived today - on time and brand new - as described. Though, I was disappointed that it is a 2016 reprint - the entire book is printed crooked and a few of the pages are smeared... even the cover is stapled crooked...
