It's difficult to describe in words the difference that HDR makes. It reminds me of the first time I used an SSD. It's mind-blowing. The picture quality is amazing. Bright, vibrant colours really bring the images to life. Video playback and gaming is out of this world. I normally get a little buyers remorse when I spend large amounts of money on tech, but I do not regret this for one single second. This review is short because as I said, words can't describe the awesomeness of this screen. It has to be seen to be believed. Gamers and media consumers should make an effort to experience it first-hand. You will not be disappointed.

BUYERS NEED TO READ! ( A ) GSYNC Monitors are designed for those of you whom have NVIDIA graphics cards ( B ) Monitors whom have FREESYNC are for those of you whom have AMD graphics cards * I made that statement for obvious reasons there are people just to dam lazy to read. I purchased my ASUS PG27U from Micro Center on Black Friday & I will tell you this monitor is SUPERB in almost every way. The ONLY issue I have found is that ASUS only ships ONE DVI cable with the monitor & to get the full potential out of the 4K @144hz you need 2 DVI cables. Also your graphics card needs to have 2 DVI ports to support the monitor. Would I buy it or suggest it! Y E S but ONLY if you have the graphics cards to support it, preferably GTX1080 & above. The technology the monitor puts out is ahead in every aspect of gaming so if your going to get one I suggest you get the 2 DVI cables, don't bother getting the cheap ones as the cable will help determine the overall capabilities. This is a FUTURE PROOF monitor & should last you for the next 6 to 10 years. Do I Love it? YES i would have added pictures but didn't have the time. The on screen display for the cross-hairs is cool, I would have taken some pics but I didn't have my phone with me. Remember Micro Center has a REALLY good price!Read full review

An insanely good monitor, especially if you can find it for a good price. Competitive games can easily top out the frame rate as long as you have at least a GTX 1080 and a CPU to match (for reference, I am using an Asus 1080 Strix and AMD Threadripper 1950x and I hit at least 150FPS at full res, and max settings -including 8x MSAA- in CS:GO). HDR is gorgeous and the resolution makes everything look sharp and realistic. The monitor does occasionally bug out and all 3 of my monitors reset whenever I play in full screen but I’m fairly certain that’s a Windows issue and not anything wrong with the monitor itself. The monitor is color accurate and has been calibrated by Asus in-shop; however that does fall apart slightly if you overclock to 144 (also the same goes for HDR- at 144hz mode it brings the peak brightness down from 1000 nits to 600, so not true HDR) so it’s generally better to leave it at its base setting of 120hz unless you really need the ~20% difference. Overall it is by far the best monitor I have ever owned and I highly recommend it as long as you have some spare dough and find one running a particularly good deal.Read full review
